Routemaster Bus (London in Wax Exhibition 1987)

Oh big red bus,

With that deep distant roar,

You've been wandering the streets,

With your open back door,

And quick witted clippie and light-jumping Walter Mitty.

The one-man tanks have taken over:

Bone-crusher, gut-buster,

Road blockade and groaner ... and those elongated taxis lack double-decker flare,

They whip around fast,

And I watch them go past,

Still clinging to my fare:

"I've been waiting here for over an hour,

And six have gone the other way ..."

"They were jammy doughnuts mate,

No buses today."
